Online Yoga Teacher Training: 14 Schools Compared
Compare 14 online yoga teacher training schools: total prices, live learning, mentoring, access limits, refund terms and Yoga Alliance school reviews.

Choosing a yoga teacher training is a personal decision. Start with the basics: time to practice teaching, useful feedback and a schedule you can actually keep. Someone else’s opinion or a high star rating can be part of the picture sure, but neither tells you how the training will fit your life.
This guide compares 14 online 200-hour yoga teacher training schools for anyone looking to become a yoga teacher or just deepening their practice. What draws you in: meditation and breathwork, maybe creative vinyasa flows, or the structure of Ashtanga? There is no single right course for everyone. The aim is to find one that supports your goals and the way you, future yoga teacher, personally learn.
Use the overview to compare prices, payment totals and support, then turn to the school profiles for full schedules, assessment and policy details. This is research based on published school information and public Yoga Alliance profiles, not firsthand participation in every program.

Compare the options at a glance
Schools are alphabetical in this overview. Compare the named course or tier, the full payment commitment and the support you will receive. Ratings describe whole schools, not just these online courses. “Not verified” means a figure could not be confirmed, not that it is zero. The table is a starting point for your research; confirm suitability and registration eligibility before enrolling.

Compare the full payment commitment
Pricing checked October 20, 2026.
A smaller monthly payment can make training feel more manageable. Before you choose, look at the full tuition commitment as well as what is due today, especially if you are studying around work or exploring yoga without planning to make teaching your main income. Some schools spread the same tuition total; others cost more overall than paying in full.
Consider what the payment plan means for you
Cost matters, especially when paying upfront is not an option. A plan that spreads the same tuition total can improve access; a higher total adds a burden for the student with less cash available today. Yoga asks us to consider how our choices affect other people, so it is reasonable to ask whether a school’s payment structure reflects its values. We show the arithmetic so you can weigh it alongside teaching, support and your budget. The price alone cannot settle that ethical question.
What Yoga Alliance school ratings can tell you
Read beyond the stars and look for the people behind them. Notice the names of lead teachers and mentors, and look for specific examples of feedback, access to help and guidance along the way. A logo won’t be the one answering your questions. Before enrolling, confirm who will actually teach and mentor your current course or cohort; a lovely review of a teacher who has moved on may describe a different experience.
These figures cover whole schools, potentially across different courses, formats, teachers and years, rather than only the current online 200-hour course. A high score does not guarantee that a training is right for you.
Yoga Alliance lets schools publish all written reviews or none. A school cannot selectively hide an individual unfavorable written review. This choice concerns written comments, which are separate from the aggregate rating and NPS figures shown here. If written comments are unavailable, that limits what you can assess; it is not proof of poor teaching. Ask the school how you can hear from recent graduates. See Yoga Alliance’s written-review publication note.
Ratings and NPS figures use the October 18 and October 20, 2026 snapshots identified in the source notes. Registration dates identify first registration with Yoga Alliance, not when a school was founded or proof of continuous operation.
Order: School-wide rating, high to low; equal ratings are alphabetical. Unrated and unverified schools appear last.
A closer look at the programs
Drishti Beats
Drishti Beats combines vinyasa, music and mindful movement with independent study and mentor contact. If you want regular feedback on your teaching while learning at your own pace, look closely at how its chapter-by-chapter assessment works.
Training compared: Online 200-hour.
The training uses a custom-built learning platform with 12 sequential chapters. Each chapter moves through a masterclass, skills, practice and reflection before you record yourself teaching. A mentor reviews the video and gives personal feedback before the next chapter opens. See the chapter structure and assessments.
Drishti’s published access and support terms include lifetime curriculum access with no completion deadline, plus group calls, Sangha access and private one-on-one mentoring that continue after graduation. There are no set booking, frequency or session-duration caps. Support is included in the training, but immediate or 24/7 availability is not promised. Existing and more favorable promises are preserved.
The training FAQ says the 200-hour course requires 30 live hours. Live one-on-one mentoring can count; recordings cannot.
Students receive first booking access to exclusive Drishti Beats retreats. Retreats are booked and paid for separately, with dates and details announced for each event; the terms do not set an annual retreat schedule. A seven-day refund-request window runs from registration.
Same total on installments
Pricing notes: The same tuition total spreads the cost without a school payment-plan premium. Optional external finance and applicable tax are separate.

Confirm which live sessions count toward the 30-hour requirement, how mentoring is booked and the retreat details before making plans.
If you prefer a fixed cohort or a single-lineage curriculum, compare those options too. Ask about review turnaround, captions, alternative formats and the live schedule in your time zone.
Akasha Yoga Academy
If breathwork and meditation are central to what you want to study, Akasha’s breath-based Hatha approach may appeal to you. Pay attention to the package: Essential and Premium differ substantially in individual support.
Training compared: Essential and Premium are different packages.
The current FAQ gives six months of Essential access and twelve months for Premium; Premium adds individual guidance.
Other official copy promises lifetime resources and gives conflicting support deadlines. At least 30 live Zoom sessions are required. Extension packages are published, but their application to each current tier needs confirmation. A 14-day refund promise appears alongside generic non-refundable wording. Neither the broadest promise nor the tightest restriction should be treated as settled for every buyer.
Higher total on installments
Pricing notes: The Essential checkout advertises the plan through October 31, while the marketing page retains an older October 15 deadline. Confirm the applicable offer before paying; Premium is a different tier.

Brett Larkin Uplifted Yoga
Would you rather fit study around an unpredictable week or learn alongside a group? Uplifted offers self-paced and seasonal group routes. Start by deciding which format you want, then check the terms for that specific route.
Training compared: Self-paced and group options; the pricing blocks separately identify the public Intensive.
Current lifetime-access options coexist with older-looking cohort language: an 18-month completion window and deferral charges appear lower on the same page. Do not merge those rules into one package. Live hours are distinguished from the self-paced certificate route for Yoga Alliance eligibility. The precise private-mentoring entitlement is not established for the selected package. Required reading costs extra.
Published sales terms make installments a full, non-refundable tuition commitment rather than a cancel-anytime subscription.
Higher total on installments for the public Intensive; newer self-paced terms not verified
Pricing notes: The public 200-hour Intensive includes the manual and shipping; the five- and six-part comparisons use US delivery. The four-part option conflicts with its own label. The newer self-paced page’s $199/month headline does not disclose a full total and is not the Intensive price. Confirm course/cohort year, international shipping and required books.

Request the exact package’s graduation rules, support allocation and applicable deferral policy before payment.
Ask who teaches the selected route, what direct time with Brett is included and which provisions apply if a live cohort is canceled. The manual and US shipping included in the separately priced Intensive should not be confused with all required reading being included in every package.
DoYogaWithMe
DoYogaWithMe combines independent study with scheduled teacher contact. Its fully online and hybrid routes handle the live component differently, so choose the route first and check that its required dates will work for you.
Training compared: Complete 200; self-paced with online Level 3.
Lifetime study access includes two 45-minute individual assessment sessions and a live teaching practicum. Level 3 attendance is required; self-paced does not mean recording-only. Published calendars/session counts differ, so request the current schedule. Additional faculty coaching or private makeup may cost $125/hour, but later Level 3 makeup is also offered free.
The separate practice membership lasts one year and livestream-practice bonus eight months. The full package has a 30-day refund window; individual courses do not.

Pricing notes: This is the online Level 3 option, not the extra-cost in-person retreat. Checkout-only charges could not be inspected; an expired August 31 discount is excluded.

Lifted Lotus Online Yoga School
If you are watching your budget and want to study independently, Lifted Lotus is worth a closer look. Also known as Online Yoga School, it offers lifetime curriculum access and contact through Zoom, email and its school community.
Training compared: Steph Ball-Mitchell; RYT 200 route, now advertising 250 hours.
Lifetime curriculum, reviewed written class plans and optional photo/video feedback are included. Students must teach a real class, even to one friend or relative, but a written reflection can document it; filming is not compulsory. This is different from mandatory teacher-observed teaching. Zoom is advertised as optional; confirm the current live requirements for your intended registration route. Mandatory learning materials are included.
Published terms provide no voluntary training refunds and require all installments even if study stops.

Pricing notes: The smaller payment has the higher overall cost. Checkout-only charges and the dollar currency code could not be independently confirmed. This is Steph Ball-Mitchell’s Lifted Lotus at Online Yoga School, not the similarly named yoga collective.

Movement Wisdom
Movement Wisdom may appeal if you want to explore Hatha, vinyasa, yin and restorative yoga in one foundational course. Its live teaching practice gives you a way to work on leading a class while you study.
Training compared: Core/Essential versus optional feedback upgrades.
Core training includes ten live group teaching practices and two sequence reviews, plus a final teaching assessment. Additional pose-image reviews are an optional upgrade, not a universal private-coaching entitlement. No completion deadline is advertised.
Lifetime access is defined by the program’s operating life, with at least 90 days’ notice before permanent removal. The 30-day refund policy can deduct the value of used add-ons or physical bonuses; installments remain a full tuition obligation.

Compare the included review count and format with any upgraded package rather than assuming unlimited coaching.
The course describes 16 chapters and a two-part final examination including a 30-minute class. Check the live-practice schedule and grading criteria. Its separate post-graduation quality guarantee is conditional, rather than an extended unconditional trial.
My Vinyasa Practice
If you learn best when you can ask questions along the way, look at My Vinyasa Practice’s mix of independent study, weekend Zoom sessions, weekly office hours and one-on-one support.
Training compared: Online 200-hour.
Lifetime mentorship and free one-on-one help are express inclusions. Peer-support appointments have published 15- and 30-minute formats; free lead-trainer sessions are also offered, including after graduation. Required texts are supplied electronically.
The course page says a nine-week minimum, while a help article says four weeks; no maximum deadline is stated. Teaching-video and written assessments are required, but published checklists differ in detail. A 30-day refund policy applies.
Terms not verified for the lowest-price offer
Pricing notes: The official promotional page and checkout list the same self-paced 200-hour course at $200, but current eligibility, expiration and installments at that price are unclear. The separate $425 regular offer spreads its own tuition without a plan premium; it is not the lowest advertised price. Its dollar currency code was not independently confirmed. Confirm whether the $200 promotion is available to you and can also be split; do not compare its price with the regular offer’s plan to calculate a premium.

Confirm the current minimum duration, final checklist and appointment-booking limits if timing is important.
Several 2022–23 reviewers described communication or submission friction; these span different programs, including advanced and children’s training. The school attributed some delays to holiday staffing or email problems. Later specialist-course reviews also questioned recording polish; MVP says improvements are underway. Other graduates praise feedback and accessibility. These mixed-course, dated accounts do not establish the same problem in today’s 200-hour course.
Confirm which live sessions are required for your intended registration pathway.
Sampoorna Yoga
Drawn to Ashtanga and vinyasa? Sampoorna’s online 200-hour course combines those practices with self-paced study and a practical teaching assessment. Check which school route and checkout you are considering, because the published terms differ.
Training compared: Main-school route versus academy checkout.
Lifetime recordings and ongoing live support are different promises. The main-school route restricts live Q&A to designated dates; the academy describes continuing weekly Q&A.
A complimentary extension promise conflicts with an older embedded $100-per-month clause. That clause is not verified as a current charge. The main route publishes non-refundable terms; do not automatically transfer them to a different academy checkout. A quiz and 30-minute teaching video are listed; individual feedback format and review timing are not established.
No plan advertised
Pricing notes: The academy homepage still lists $899, unlike the detailed course and public checkout. Confirm the final invoice and any tax; a separately advertised early-bird discount was not verified for this checkout. “No plan advertised” does not rule out an individually arranged option.

Santosha Yoga Institute
Santosha offers a fully online, lineage-oriented Hatha and vini-flow training. It may suit you if you want independent study, filmed teaching feedback and optional live questions and answers.
Training compared: Full online Level 1 / 200-hour; not Lite or hybrid.
The online-200 FAQ gives 18 months of included access followed by an unspecified continuation fee, alongside lifetime/unlimited wording on the course page. Zoom support is described as continuing until graduation, so the effect of the fee needs clarification. Filmed teaching assessment, assignments and posture-lab feedback are included; no written exam is advertised.
Main online refund terms permit refunds only before materials are accessed, less a $199 deposit and $130 administration deduction. Installments remain payable after stopping.
Terms not verified
Pricing notes: The final contract total could not be verified: early-bird/deposit wording, a different AUD plan and an inaccessible enrollment form need reconciliation. The payment policy credits the deposit toward tuition, but lists possible tax/transaction costs and $130 for each declined monthly payment. That conditional charge is separate from the ordinary advertised difference. Get the complete schedule in writing before committing.

Siddhi Yoga
With Siddhi Yoga, look closely at the difference between access to course materials and access to teachers. The packages make different promises, and self-paced study still includes a required live component.
Training compared: English 2026 Hatha 200-hour; Certified versus Professional.
The exact Hatha brochure requires 30 synchronous hours. Certified provides six months of materials/support; Professional advertises lifetime materials but twelve months of support.
Published extension prices are $10/month for course access and $15/month for Zoom. Unlimited exam retakes apply while access remains active. Lifetime terms normally provide a ten-year baseline and migration/core-content protections, with exceptions; they do not promise perpetual human mentoring. The refund window is 14 calendar days.

The Kaivalya Yoga Method
The Kaivalya Yoga Method’s 200-hour program is sold through Mindful Purpose Institute. It combines independent study with mentor-reviewed assignments, which may appeal if you want to work at your own pace and receive feedback on submitted work.
Training compared: Standalone 200-hour; not All Access.
Individual assignment feedback is included, but lifetime recordings are not lifetime assisted study: the supported completion window is six months.
Published extensions cost $127 for one month or $267 for three; an optional one-hour private mentoring call is $97 and expires with the training period. The product advertises 30 days for refunds, the refund policy says 14, and the terms impose coursework-related conditions. An unconditional settled guarantee cannot be inferred.
Terms not verified: third-party financing
Pricing notes: Shop Pay advertises a zero-interest route for eligible applicants alongside interest-bearing financing. The illustration is not a guaranteed offer or an established school surcharge. The public short-plan schedule is inconsistent. Confirm the approved total, any down payment and dates before accepting financing; a universal same-total plan was not verified.

Two historical reviewers, in 2021 and 2023, described extension difficulties. The school disputed aspects, including request timing, and offered completion help. Newer reviews praise responsive mentors. Those older experiences are not evidence of a current recurring failure; confirm extension deadlines and charges before enrolling.

Yoga Farm Ithaca
Yoga Farm Ithaca’s Radiant Warrior course brings together Hatha, vinyasa and mindfulness. If you want to understand how study turns into leading a class, pay attention to its published teaching-practice and assessment requirements.
Training compared: Radiant Warrior self-directed route, fall 2026.
Recorded participation is permitted, transcripts are included, and materials remain available indefinitely. Live support lasts one year; that alone does not establish a final certification deadline. Seven group office-hour opportunities per week are advertised. Three required books cost extra despite the all-inclusive tuition heading; an anatomy book is optional.
The school’s certificate has no ongoing fees or CEU requirements. Course-specific copy says no refunds after the immediate start; the general agreement has differing course-type provisions, so confirm which applies.

Pricing notes: The first payment is due at registration, not an extra deposit. Required books cost extra either way. Community discounts are conditional; ask whether yours applies to both choices. YogaDownload
YogaDownload offers a budget-priced, fully online 200-hour course with a defined completion window. It may suit you if flexible study matters and you are comfortable working toward a deadline.
Training compared: Online 200-hour teacher-certification route.
The course includes lifetime content and practice-library access, plus dedicated-mentor support and quiz/script feedback. Lifetime human support is not established.
However, certification must be completed within one year of enrollment. No current extension entitlement is established here. Personal-development learners may skip teaching activities and receive a different completion certificate, not a teaching qualification. After the 14-day refund window, payment-plan installments remain tuition obligations rather than a cancel-anytime subscription. The published private-call allowance is not quantified.

YogaRenew
YogaRenew offers self-paced study, frequent live calls and no stated completion deadline. It may appeal if you need a choice of session times and want to revisit the material after graduation.
Training compared: Direct online 200-hour; separate app and in-person add-ons.
Lifetime materials, live calls and community, with no graduation deadline or extension charge, are explicit inclusions. Personalized feedback is advertised, but group-call availability does not establish private mentoring appointments. Thirty live hours are described for the Yoga Alliance route; other school wording links them to graduation, so clarify the certificate pathway.
Recommended books are optional; the separate app subscription is not the training. A 30-day course refund is advertised. Group-call terms permit recording/public reuse.

Pricing notes: Applicable tax is separate. The first $80 is included in the total. The school advertises the $333 sale through October 23, 2026; its publicly linked FEARLESSFALL discount was rejected on the installment plan when checked on October 20. This is a price difference against the promotion, not a verified interest charge.

Five distinct 2023–26 reviewers wanted more observed teaching practice, although course levels were not always specified. A separate February 2024 cluster concerned progression rules changing mid-course; the school confirmed sequential completion was introduced to improve learning. That concerns transition clarity, not sequential teaching itself. Many critical reviewers also praised teachers and flexibility; these accounts do not establish a defect in the current 200-hour curriculum.
Ask which calls count toward the required hours and how your teaching will be observed and assessed.
Schools needing an availability check
The 14 schools above have detailed comparisons in this guide. These three also appear in the school-wide ratings table, but their online training availability needs confirmation before they belong on your shortlist.
Zazyoga: Its homepage announced plans to retire this program at the end of 2025. Current enrollment availability remains unconfirmed. Older course pages should not be treated as proof that enrollment is open. Read Zazyoga’s announcement.
The Maze Method: An online 200-hour course is still listed, but we could not establish a current bookable intake, price or schedule. Confirm availability directly before planning around it. View the listed online course.
East West Yoga: We verified destination-based training on the current site, but did not confirm an active online 200-hour option. This does not establish that an online course has permanently ended. Check East West’s current programs.
How to choose your training
Once you have a shortlist, ask each school the same practical questions. How long do you have to finish? Who will observe your teaching? What support is included, when are the live sessions, and what happens if you need more time? Confirm renewal or extension costs, the refund trigger and any accessible or alternative assessment arrangements. Keep the offer and terms that apply to your purchase. Voluntary refund policies do not remove applicable consumer rights, and a school certificate is separate from optional Yoga Alliance registration.
Start with the yoga you want to study
Read the syllabus and, if you can, try a class with the lead teachers. Notice what you want more of: movement, meditation, philosophy, anatomy or teaching practice. Choose a training that supports the kind of practice and teaching you want to develop.
Find out how you will practice teaching
Ask how often you will lead others, whether a teacher watches live or reviews a recording, and whether you can try again after feedback. A large video library can be useful, but it does not tell you how closely a teacher will support your development.
Put the live sessions in your own calendar
Check time zones, attendance rules and makeup options. Ask which sessions count toward graduation and any registration pathway. Optional office hours can be valuable, but the number offered is different from the number you must attend.
Separate content access from support access
“Lifetime access” may refer only to recordings. Check how long you can contact mentors, submit assignments, attend calls and finish assessments. Ask what happens if work, illness or family commitments interrupt your study.
Compare the whole cost and the cancellation terms
Include books, payment-plan differences, extension fees, assessment fees and any separate professional registration costs. Save the terms that apply to the package you buy. Where pages disagree, get a written answer before paying.
Ask about your own learning needs
If you need captions, accessible materials, movement adaptations or additional feedback, ask how these are provided. Beginners should check prerequisites and speak with the school about their current practice. Advanced postures are only one small part of learning to teach.
Common questions about online teacher training
Can you learn to teach yoga online?
Online study can combine recorded lessons, personal practice, live discussion and teaching assessment. Its usefulness depends heavily on how those parts are delivered and how much feedback you receive. It is worth adding opportunities to observe classes and practice teaching in person where possible. No delivery format guarantees readiness on its own.
What do 200-hour, 300-hour and 500-hour training mean?
A 200-hour program is a foundational training. A 300-hour program is typically advanced study after a 200-hour course. Under Yoga Alliance’s current standards, the RYT 500 training requirement can be met through a qualifying 500-hour program or qualifying 200-hour and 300-hour programs. RYT 500 registration also requires teaching experience; completing the training hours alone is not the whole requirement.
Does graduating automatically make me a Registered Yoga Teacher?
A school awards its own completion certificate. Yoga Alliance teacher registration is a separate application with its own requirements and fees. Completing an eligible 200-hour training can support an application for RYT 200, but a school’s use of the word “certified” should not be confused with automatic personal registration. Read Yoga Alliance’s current teacher credential standards.
What should I check about live online training?
Yoga Alliance’s current online-training guidance requires at least 15 percent synchronous learning, equivalent to 30 hours in a 200-hour program or 45 in an advanced 300-hour program. Ask the school which sessions satisfy that requirement, how attendance is recorded and whether the exact package you are buying provides the applicable pathway. Do not assume every optional call, recording or mentoring offer counts. Check Yoga Alliance’s online-training guidance.
Will a certificate guarantee teaching work?
No course can guarantee that a particular studio will hire you or that a certificate will meet every local requirement. Before enrolling, ask prospective employers and your insurer what qualifications and experience they expect. Check the requirements where you intend to teach, particularly if you plan to work with specialist populations.
Can I train without planning to teach?
Yes, if the program accepts students studying for personal development. A teacher training can give structure to your study of practice, philosophy and anatomy, but it also involves teaching assignments. Ask whether that balance matches what you want before committing to a full course.
Take the next step with a clear shortlist
You do not have to make the whole decision today. Choose two or three programs that interest you, compare their live schedules, teaching assessments and support, and speak with the schools. Get clear answers before paying. Those conversations can help you more than an impressive headline or a small difference in stars.
Give yourself room to choose the school where you are most likely to practice consistently, ask questions and grow as a teacher. Your training should make space for learning, feedback and steady progress.

How we compared the programs
We compared official course pages, published support and assessment information, enrollment terms and public Yoga Alliance school profiles. The focus is foundational online training: learning format, access to teachers, teaching practice, assessment, cost and the terms that apply to the named offer. This is a researched shortlist, not an exhaustive survey. We have not independently tested every course or audited its teaching; fit suggestions are editorial judgments based on published features.
When official pages conflict or leave an important question unanswered, we identify what needs checking. Published course conditions are separate from learners’ self-reported experiences. Review research was checked October 20, 2026; dates and course limitations stay with the accounts discussed. Reviews are not independently verified outcomes, and the targeted search is not a complaint-rate comparison. Coverage varies, so fewer accessible complaints do not establish better quality. Confirm the terms for your purchase, including applicable rights and earlier promises the published policy preserves.

*DoYogaWithMe’s matched profile lists August 2026 as its first-registration date. This is not the launch date of its older training program; continuity with an earlier registration was not established. The mapped profiles name Movement Wisdom as “Movement Wisdom Online,” Santosha as “Santosha Yoga Experiences Pty. Ltd.,” and Lifted Lotus as “Lifted Lotus Online Yoga School.” YogaDownload’s registered school identity, rating, NPS and first-registration date remain unverified. That does not establish that it lacks registration or reviews; ask the provider for its exact official profile.
